2. Student book pg 28 — introduce what the project will be
- a) Introduce a completed craft and ask the students questions about the glass time capsule. “First let’s look at this together — what do you think it’s made out of? Is it paper or glass?” Explain the concept of the time capsule: “A time capsule is when you put something away to open in the future.” “You will write a letter to yourself and then read it when you are older.”
- Show them the various kits and different colors and ask what their favorite colors are and what they will write. Show the string in a bow and ask students if they know how to make a bow like this; demonstrate how to make it.
- Go over the necessary vocabulary for the craft and write it on the board to practice with the students. Introduce new words like glass, capsule and bow, and make sure students understand what each word means and how to say it.
- b) The craft is making a glass time capsule for their letters.
