- To encourage students to use descriptive words
Students will be able to
- Recognize and say size-related vocabulary
- Compare sizes by observing pictures and completing workbook tasks
- Use simple descriptive sentences when speaking with a partner
1. Warm-Up
Hello Song · “How are you?” · “How’s the weather today?” · Day of the week check
2. Storybook Review (Student Book pg. 29)
- a) Introduce the sticker board and show the stickers.
- b) Guide students to place the correct sticker in each box.
- c) After placing each sticker, students say the word aloud: movie, popcorn, tall, tiny, small, big, huge.
3. Workbook pg 9 — Review
- Introduce the Review page and point to the different sizes: tiny, small, big and huge. Ask students to look at the vehicles (motorcycle, car, truck and bus) and discuss their relative sizes.
- Then instruct students to find the matching stickers and place them on the correct shadows to complete the picture.
3. Workbook pg 10 — Review
- a) Students look at the two pictures carefully.
- b) They compare the scenes and circle three differences.
- c) Ask guiding questions to support observation: “What is Roo eating?” “What is Hoggy eating?” “Look! Is Tigo having fun?”
- Answers: Roo’s snack, the popcorn, Tigo’s hands.
5. Workbook pg 12 — I Can Say
- a) Ask and answer with a partner. Guide students to use the yellow and blue word banks to practice the dialogue. Explain that the yellow word bank is for the yellow blank and the blue word bank is for the blue blank. Student A: “Look at the tree.” Student B: “It’s so tall.” Have students switch roles.
- b) Ask students to imagine they have grown after eating the magic popcorn. Instruct them to draw their new “huge” selves in the box and share their drawings with a partner.
- Teacher Tips: keep the atmosphere light and playful so young learners feel safe experimenting with different descriptive words. Encourage students to imagine being even bigger than mountains or buildings to make the drawing activity more creative and fun.
6. Wrap-up
- Review target words with the Let’s Chant song, then finish the class with the Goodbye song.
