Lesson Goals
- To review and reinforce shape vocabulary
- To encourage students to use shape words through activities
Students will be able to
- Name and identify basic shapes (circle, square, triangle, heart) while reviewing the story
- Create a drawing based on the story using at least one target shape
1. Warm-Up
Hello Song · “How are you?” · “How’s the weather today?” · Day of the week check
2. Story Review (Student Book pg 10-21)
- The teacher guides the review by pointing to key story scenes and asking students to name the shapes they see in each picture. Model the target language first, then invite students to respond together or individually.
- “What shape is the star?” “What shape do you see on the tree?” “Is it a triangle?” “Is this a heart?”
3. Activity 1 (Story) — Draw a Scene
- Ask students to draw their favorite part of the story or a specific scene. Students must use one shape they learned as the main subject of the picture (e.g. the moon is a circle).
- Comprehension Check: ask them to explain their drawing to you or to the class.
4. Activity 2 (Vocabulary) — Hot Potato
- a) Students pass the ball around as music plays. When the music stops, the student holding the ball must choose an object in the class and name its shape (e.g. the clock is a circle, the door is a rectangle).
- b) Keep going until the classroom objects are exhausted.
5. Wrap-up
- Review target words with the [Let’s Chant] song, then finish the class with the Goodbye song.

Lesson Goals
- To reinforce basic shape recognition
- To encourage simple thinking and speaking about shapes
Students will be able to
- Identify and name basic shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle) in pictures and scenes
- Place the correct shape stickers on each scene in the workbook
- Count how many of each shape appear in a picture and say the numbers aloud
- Create a simple drawing using basic shapes

2. Workbook pg. 6-7 — Story
- a) Direct students to place the correct shape stickers on each scene.
- b) Direct students to place the correct shape stickers on each scene.
- c) Check each scene with the class and elicit the shape names aloud.
- Fast finishers (optional): encourage students to draw one more object made of the same shape on the planet. “What else can be on this planet?”
3. Skills — Numbers: 7, 8 (Student Book pg 22)
- a) Ask comprehension questions. Teacher: “What are these?” Student: “House.” Teacher: “How many (circles/squares/etc.) do you see?”
- b) Lead students in counting the correct number of shapes in the picture.
- c) Correct any student’s book should they have the wrong answers.
4. Activity (Numbers: 7, 8) — 7 & 8 Relay Basketball
- Objective: students count out the correct number (7, 8) of balls to fill the designated buckets.
- Materials: small balls, two baskets, masking tape.
- a) Divide the class into 2 teams. Place a bucket in front of each team. Label the buckets with the number 7.
- b) On the signal, the first student goes to the shooting line and takes one shot. Success or miss, the student must return to the back of the line immediately.
- c) The first team to fill 7 balls in the bucket wins the round.
- d) Replace the ‘7’ with the number ‘8’. Reset the buckets and repeat the relay.
5. Wrap-up
- Review target words with the [Let’s Chant] song, then finish the class with the Goodbye song.
