Students will be able to

2. Make Together — I Can See! (Student Book pg 26)

The craft is making an observation camera with a magnifying lens. Introduce the craft and how to do it, do it together with the students and help them if necessary.
a) Distribute the camera templates, magnifying lenses and stickers to the students.
b) Help students assemble the camera by attaching the magnifying lens to the center and connecting the neck strap.
c) Guide students to decorate their cameras using markers and stickers.
d) Lead students to look through the lens at different objects and practice the sentence: “I see a (desk/book/pencil)!”
Teacher Tips: circulate to help with the assembly and encourage students to use the phrase “I see…” while observing objects. If time and location permit, take the students outside to a forest or park to observe seasonal changes and nature.

3. Show and tell

Have a show and tell where students introduce their craft to their friends. Focus on simple phrases. Be sure to congratulate them afterwards and get the other students to applaud so that they don’t feel nervous showing their craft.

4. Wrap-up

Review target words with the [Let’s Chant] song, then finish the class with the Goodbye song.

2. Storybook Review (Student Book pg 27)

a) Introduce the sticker board and show the stickers.
b) Guide students to place the correct sticker in each box.
c) After placing each sticker, students say the word aloud: see, hear, smell, touch, taste.

3. Workbook pg 10 — Review

a) Ask students to look at Hoggy and the objects.
b) Guide students to trace the dotted lines from Hoggy’s body parts to each object.
c) Encourage students to repeat the words aloud: see, hear, smell, touch and taste.

4. Workbook pg 10 — Review

a) Students look at the two pictures carefully.
b) They compare the scenes and circle three differences.
c) Ask guiding questions to support observation: “Look under the bed! What do you see?” “Who is sitting on the box?” “What color are the socks in the first picture?”
Answers: teddy bear, coin, sock.

5. Activity (Vocabulary) — Collecting Senses

Objective: students stand in a line and pass ‘sense’ balls using spoons to complete the sense set.
Materials: ping-pong balls (with sensory words), spoons, four baskets.
a) Divide the class into two teams and have each team stand in a long, straight line.
b) Give every student a spoon to hold in their hand.
c) Place the ‘start basket’ (with sense balls) at the front of the line and the ‘finish basket’ at the very end.
d) Direct the first student to pick a ball and pass it to the next student’s spoon without using their hands.
e) Guide the last student to put the ball in the basket at the finish line and shout “I (see)!” Then all the teammates must shout “I (see)!” too.
f) Lead the teams to repeat the process until they have collected all 5 different sense balls (see, hear, smell, touch, taste) in the finish basket.

6. Wrap-up

Review target words with the [Let’s Chant] song, then finish the class with the Goodbye song.
