4. Make Together and Review

W2 P3Student Book (Make Together)

Lesson Goals

  • To help students build confidence in using everyday English through greetings, weather expressions, and day-of-the-week vocabulary in a fun and predictable warm-up routine
  • To introduce students to the class craft project and guide them in understanding the steps, materials, and colors involved
  • To encourage students to express themselves creatively by describing their craft and sharing their finished work during a supportive show-and-tell

Students will be able to

  • Respond to basic classroom questions with simple, accurate sentences
  • Follow step-by-step instructions for completing the craft, identify the materials they are using, and answer simple questions such as “What color is this?” or “What are you making?”
  • Use short descriptive sentences during show-and-tell — “My house is pink,” “This part is blue,” “I made a ______.”

1. Warm-Up

Hello Song · “How are you?” · “How’s the weather today?” · Day of the week check

2. Student Book pg 26 — introduce the project

  • a) Introduce the craft and how to do it, do it together with the students and help them if necessary.
  • Example: the craft is making a life jacket with mini blocks.
  • This craft may change if materials are not available for purchase.

4. Talk while they make it

  • “Are you enjoying the craft?” “Can you describe what you’re making?” “What colors are you using?” “What materials are you using?”
W2 P4Review — Student Book + Workbook

Lesson Goals

  • To help students practice everyday English routines while reinforcing simple sentence structures
  • To review and consolidate target vocabulary and phonics through workbook activities, picture identification, and interactive games
  • To encourage active participation, physical engagement, and teamwork during the Magic Robot Race game

Students will be able to

  • Respond accurately to questions about feelings, weather, and days of the week
  • Identify and match vocabulary and phonics words in workbook activities, circling differences, placing stickers, and describing their own drawings about Safety Rules
  • Follow instructions and demonstrate comprehension during the Magic Robot Race game, moving according to descriptive words

1. Warm-Up

Hello Song · “How are you?” · “How’s the weather today?” · Day of the week check

2. Workbook pg 9-10 — Review

  • a) Have a look at the picture and find the right stickers (p.9).
  • Discuss with the students afterwards and ask (p.10): “What characters are swimming?” “Who is building a sand castle?” “What should this person be saying?”

3. Workbook pg 11 — Review

  • a) Ask and answer in pairs. Get the students to ask questions like “What should I do before jumping in?” “You should warm up before jumping in.”

5. Vocabulary game and Phonics game — Magic Robot Race

  • a) Materials: picture cards (jump, swim, surf, dive, rest, warm up, safe, ready); phonics cards (flower, flag, flip, plug, play, plate); 2-4 cones or spots on the floor; music (optional).
  • b) Setup: place the picture cards on one side of the room (the “Robot Control Wall”). Place the phonics cards in 3 separate corners. Make a start line where students will “be robots.”
  • c) Introduction: “You are magic robots! I will give you instructions. Move like a robot!” Teacher models movements: stretching robot, swimming robot, diving robot, surfing robot. Let students copy each one. Make it silly and fun.
  • d) Game play. “Jump!” — students move like stiff robots, hopping or making big jumping movements, running quickly to the Robot Control Wall. “Dive!” — a sudden, rigid robot diving motion, thrusting their hands forward. “Warm Up!” — students slow down, performing stiff robot stretches, such as large, jerky arm circles. “Surf!” — a side-to-side balancing motion. “Safe!” — a slow, deliberate walk toward the wall, arms wide in a rigid robot gesture. “Swim!” — a stiff robot swimming motion, vigorously moving their arms.
  • Teacher: “Beep-Boop! Mission complete! All the magic robots performed their tasks perfectly! Congratulations! Now let’s turn off robot mode and switch to resting mode.”
  • e) Round 2 — Phonics Treasure Corners. “I will say a magic Fl word. Robots must run to the correct corner!” (Flag, Flower, Flip.) Teacher holds up a phonics card or says the word aloud: “Go to the Flag!” “Find the Flower!” “Run to Flip!” Students run to the corner with that card. Then add mixed instructions: “Go fast to Flag!” “Go shaky to Flower!” “Go quiet to Flip!” “Go big to Flower!”

6. Wrap-up

  • Finish the class with the “Goodbye Song” and tell the students “See you next week!”
