4. Make Together and Review

W2 P3Student Book (Make Together)

Lesson Goals

  • To help students express and talk about feelings through a hands-on craft activity

Students will be able to

  • Create different facial expressions using movable face parts
  • Identify and name basic emotions
  • Use simple phrases to talk about feelings during show and tell

1. Warm-Up

Hello Song · “How are you?” · “How’s the weather today?” · Day of the week check

2. Make Together — How Do You Feel? (Student Book pg 24)

  • The craft is making a face with magnets to express different emotions. Introduce the craft and how to do it, do it together with the students and help them if necessary.
  • a) Instruct students to separate the face parts (eyes, nose, mouth) from the magnet sheet.
  • b) Guide students to choose different expressions and stick them onto the face board to create various characters.
  • Teacher Tip: while making the faces, ask students “How does he feel?” or “Is she happy or sad?” to encourage emotional expression.
  • ** This craft may change if materials are not available for purchase.

3. Show and tell

  • Have a show and tell where students introduce their craft to their friends. Focus on simple phrases. Be sure to congratulate them afterwards and get the other students to applaud so that they don’t feel nervous showing their craft.

4. Wrap-up

  • Review target words with the [Let’s Chant] song, then finish the class with the Goodbye song.
W2 P4Review — Student Book + Workbook

Lesson Goals

  • To help students recognize, express and respond to basic emotions through review activities and games

Students will be able to

  • Identify and say basic emotion words
  • Match emotions with appropriate actions or solutions to feel better

1. Warm-Up

Hello Song · “How are you?” · “How’s the weather today?” · Day of the week check

2. Storybook Review (Student Book pg. 25)

  • a) Introduce the sticker board and show the stickers.
  • b) Guide students to place the correct sticker in each box.
  • c) After placing each sticker, students say the word aloud: happy, sleepy, angry, shy, hungry.

3. Workbook pg. 10 — Review

  • Have students identify the animal’s feelings and match them with the right way to feel better.
  • a) Ask, “How does Roo feel? She is sleepy!”
  • b) Guide students to find the solution: “To feel better, go to bed and sleep!”
  • c) Repeat for Tigo and Hoggy.

4. Workbook pg. 11 — Review

  • Guide students to choose an emotion, draw the corresponding face, and express it aloud. Encourage students to say “I am happy!” or “I am shy!” while showing their drawings.

5. Activity (Vocabulary) — Telepathy Challenge

  • Objective: students express target emotions using consistent body language within a group.
  • a) Divide the class into groups of 4 or 5. Each team stands in a straight line, facing the front. Key point: students cannot see each other’s faces.
  • b) The teacher calls out a target emotion: “I am angry.”
  • c) Give them 3 seconds to think of a pose. “One, two, three… POSE!”
  • d) The teacher checks the poses. If every student in the line has the same pose, the team gets a point.
  • Teacher Tip: adjust based on the students’ level or the classroom situation. If students find it difficult to coordinate in a large group, or if the level is low, start with pairs — matching with just one partner is easier and helps build confidence before moving to larger groups.

6. Wrap-up

  • Review target words with the Let’s Chant song, then finish the class with the Goodbye song.
