2. Make Together — My Family Tree (Student Book pg 24)

The craft is making a Family Tree with wooden templates and stickers.
a) Give students a wooden tree template, family face cut-outs, and jewel stickers.
b) Guide students to assemble the family tree by attaching the family faces to the branches and connecting the tree to its base.
c) Encourage students to decorate the family trees using markers and jewel stickers.
d) Lead students to point at the family members and practise the sentence: “I love my (mom/dad/grandma)!”
This craft may change if materials are not available for purchase.

3. Show and tell

Have a show and tell where students can introduce their craft to their friends. Focus on simple phrases. Be sure to congratulate them afterwards and get the other students to applaud so that they don’t feel nervous showing their craft.

4. Wrap-up

Review target words with the [Let’s Chant] song, then finish the class with the Goodbye song.

2. Storybook Review (Student Book pg.27)

The guide prints “pg.27”, which is Boogi 1’s review page; this unit’s review is on 25.
a) The teacher introduces the sticker board and shows the stickers.
b) Guide students to place the correct sticker in each box.
c) After placing each sticker, students say the word aloud: where, mom, dad, sister, brother, family.

3. Workbook pg 10 — Review

a) Ask students to follow the path from the ‘Start’ with their fingers.
b) Direct students to look at each family member they meet on the path (mom, dad, sister, brother) and say the family words aloud.
c) Finish the activity by reaching the family photo at the end and saying “family”.

4. Workbook pg 11 — Review

Guide students to complete the activity that practises ‘in’ on page 11.
a) Students look at the picture and find where each character is hiding.
b) Direct students to the sticker page to find the characters.
c) Read the sentences at the bottom together and lead students to find the matching spot in the picture.
d) Lead students to point at each character and practise the sentence: “(Name) is in the (object)!”

5. Activity (Vocabulary) — Family Picture

Objective: Students connect drawings to make one big family picture.
Materials: large poster paper, drawing paper, markers, glue or tape.
a) “We will make one big picture together. Each student will draw one family member. Let’s make a family!”
b) Divide the students into teams, assigning each team a specific family member (Team Mom, Team Dad, Team Sister, Team Brother).
c) Give each team a piece of paper to draw and colour their assigned family member.
d) Guide students to bring their drawings to a large poster paper and attach them together to complete one big family picture.
Teacher tip: when students finish drawing, cut around the shapes before sticking them onto the big poster. This makes the final family picture look much neater.

6. Wrap-up

Review target words with the [Let’s Chant] song, then finish the class with the Goodbye song.
